Chakka pradhaman
Chakka pradhaman or jackfruit payasam
Ingredients
500 grams pureed jackfruit(pressure cook the jackfruit pods for 1 or 2 whistles and grind them in a mixer grinder without adding water)
2 cups powdered jaggery
2 teaspoons cashews
1/2 teaspoon green cardamom
2 teaspoons ghee
2 cups coconut milk
To prepare this delicious payasam recipe, put a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and melt ghee in it. When the ghee is hot enough, add the cashew nuts and roast them. Once done, transfer to a bowl and keep aside.
Now, add the pureed jackfruit in the pan along with jaggery powder and roasted cashews, and cook for about 10 minutes. Make sure that the mixture is thickened. (You can also use the pulp of the jackfruit)
When the jackfruit mixture is thickened, add the coconut milk along with cardamom powder and stir continuously. Stop in between and bring the milk to a boil. Let the coconut milk and jackfruit mixture simmer for another 10 minutes.
Once cooked, turn off the flame and garnish with cashews and sliced coconut pieces. Serve hot!
