Uppu seedai or salt seedai

Rice flour seived - 1 cup

Urad dal powder -  2 tsp

Butter - 6 tsp

Salt to taste

Asfoetida 

Water - sprinkle little while kneading the dough


Take 1 cup rice flour and seive it.


Roast 2 tsp urad dal. Grind urad dal in mixie to a fine powder.





Mix rice flour, urad dal powder, butter, salt and asfoetida together


            Sprinkle water to knead the dough. 


Make small balls from this dough. Dry the balls in towel or paper for 45 mins. Let the balls become completely dry

In a thick pan, add oil to fry. Once it ready, fry the balls till it turns slight brown. Uppu seedai is ready.

Note: seedai may burst if it is moist. Drying the balls completely is a very important step.
