Capsicum briyani

Capsicum briyani with cucumber raitha 


2 tbsp oil

1 tsp mustard

½ tsp cumin

2 dried red chilli

pinch hing

Few curry leaves

1 onion, sliced

1 capsicum, sliced

½ tsp turmeric

1 tsp chilli pwoder

½ tsp garam masala

1 tsp salt

4 cup cooked basmati rice

2 tbsp coriander, chopped

½ lemon juice


In a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil. Splutter 1 tsp mustard, ½ tsp cumin, 2 dried red chilli, pinch hing, and few curry leaves. Add 1 onion and saute slightly till the onion softens.

Now add 1 capsicum and saute till the capsicum turns crunchy. Add ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala, and 1 tsp salt. Saute on low flame till the spices turn aromatic. Add in 4 cup of cooked basmati rice.


Mix gently, making sure everything is well combined. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until the spices are absorbed well. Add 2 tbsp coriander, ½ lemon juice and mix well. Yummy Capsicum briyani with raita is ready to serve.
