Brinjal pepper kootu
Brinjal or bhaingan pepper kootu (kathrikai milagishyam) for rainy day
Cut 2 brinjals into small cube sizes. Soak them in the water to avoid brownish colour. Boil 3 cups of water along with 1 cup of moong dhal in a kadai. Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric. When the dhal boils halfway add brinjal to the kadai. When brinjal softens, grind a paste of coconut, pepper and jeera in a mixer grinder. Add this coconut masala to the moong dhal mixture gravy. Add 2 tsp of salt to the gravy. Hot brinjal pepper gravy (kathrikai milagishyam) is ready to serve with hot white rice. Good for flu and cold
